4th Hole -- How It All Started
"It" all started in 1967 when I was 23 and invited to play golf at Bethpage State Park. Little did I know that this "1st Day" was to change my life forever. Before heading home that day my car found its way to a Sports Store where I purchased my first set of clubs! ...Entering my Apartment with a new golf bag over my shoulder (instead of my customary bag of "graduate books") I announced to my wife: "Honey, I'm going to play golf! It's a Great Game and you're going to love it too!" ...By the way, the clubs were Casper Irons, Nicklaus Woods, a Boros Putter, Balls, Tees, Glove and even an Arnold Palmer Umbrella! "Makes No Sense" being under equipped in golf! ... But, then again, "It Never Rains" in golf! -- At least, "It's Always Starting To Stop!"
Fifty years later, golf is still the greatest game so much so that it's become my life work as a Researcher & Teacher of "Healthy Golf!" ...Of course, the best thing that happened to me iS the Trinity Swing that *Automates SUCCESS!* "123" & Swing Free! learned a lot from Mr. Hogan & attribute much to his insight. Of course, thinking back I well recall years on the Range doing research needed to prove all NEW ideas in Golf are worthy of attention. Dedication To KEN VENTURI
In the late 1980's when I served as Swing Coach for a Blind Golfer who benefited greatly from Ken's encouragement, I requested a meeting to verify anatomical findings that later formalized in a video for Mr. Hogan as "Bi-Axis Golf Swing" The Hidden Power In You!
What's special about the meeting is that Ken invited me to his Home Course at Eagle Creek and there gave my findings his complete undivided attention.
Upon completing my presentation of the Bi-Axis Model, I asked of Ken's impression to which he replied ... "Doc, It Has A Lot Of Merit."
Such assurance from a US Open Champion was more than sufficient to further my anatomical and geometric studies that led to the discovery of HOGAN's CUBE, and later to the GOLF WINDOW, Hogan's TWIST, New META-GRIP, "E-Solution" & SPOT Putting.
I am also indebted to Mr. Venturi for referring my research to Mr. Hogan's personal attention. --Rare indeed for a no-name like me to receive such audience!
Although I've not imposed other formal work on Mr. Venturi's time, I would like everyone in golf to know how important Ken's encouragement was to the further development of my work and to whatever contribution may extend to help advance the game, its players and research in the general sciences.
Of course, I much regret that Ken, Mr. Hogan & Anthony Ravielli are no longer with us to join in celebrating Hogan's Cube and other findings.
However, I am hopeful with "Cubic Vision" likely to become a formal part of Golf Theory & Instruction, these icons of the game will remain closer to us than ever before.
